Headblocks on Truss Towers

XSF have been engineering and fabricating Truss Towers across the USA for more than 20 years. As a Texas-based company, we understand the punishment and extreme weather Truss Towers must endure.

Recognized for our diligence in Product Development and Quality Control, XSF prides itself as Truss and Structural Experts that understand every detail of Ground Support Systems and Truss Towers, and there are many!

Below are detailed Images, Part Numbers, and Descriptions, as well as what a headblock is and why they are a highly useful component of Ground Support Systems.

HeadBlock Features

Headblocks can be used on any Truss Tower, XSF offers custom and standard sizing.

Standard Sizes are 12”x12”, 16”x16”, and 20.5”x20.5” towers.

Head blocks are also available for all connection types which include:

ADDITIONAL HEADBLOCK FEATURES

  • Available in single reeved or double reeved applications
  • Sheaves to be used for a Dead-off application available upon request
  • Anchor for vertical lifeline available upon request
  • Custom applications available upon request

Headblocks are intended for use with Chain hoists and can accommodate any chain size.

What is a Truss HeadBlock and What is its Purpose?

The Headblocks are the unsung heroes of the Truss Tower. Quietly perched at the top of the towers they are a key component to raising and lower a truss goal post or roof grid system.

The Headblocks have sheaves that rotate and act as guides for the chain from a chain hoist.  This simple mechanism makes raising a truss system to trim height much easier and can save a lot of time during installation and load out which equates to saving money. The Headblock, along with the chain hoist raise and lower the horizontal main truss sections to a desired elevation.  With a simple push of a button the truss or roof grid can be raised to trim height or lowered to ground level, where the fixtures, devices and cabling can quickly and easily be installed or adjusted.

Because of the many factors involved in the engineering calculations for a tower truss, standard load tables are not provided by XSF for tower truss.  The design includes more factors than standard truss used in a horizontal application.

XSF offers engineering for each tower truss application to ensure the correct towers are provided with safety in mind for your project.
